Aurora Sun Turns 4: Join Us at Our Anniversary Ribbon Cutting and Open House!
Four years ago, I opened Aurora Sun as an online-only counseling practice, and honestly, it still doesn’t quite feel real how far we’ve come since then. This practice started because I wanted to expand accessible mental health care, and because I couldn't shake the feeling that this was the work I was supposed to be doing.
My connection to this work is personal. As someone who received services through the State of New Jersey growing up, I know firsthand what it means when the right support shows up at the right moment — therapy changed the entire trajectory of my life. So when I think about why I do this, it’s not abstract to me. Building Aurora Sun as an Asian American, woman-owned practice has been my way of giving back to the state that helped raise me.
In November 2025, we took the leap and opened our first physical office right here in Mantua — and the need for accessible care in South Jersey hasn’t slowed down since. If anything, it’s grown. We’ve already expanded that space so we can say yes to more of the families reaching out to us, and on October 2nd, we’re celebrating all of it together: four years of Aurora Sun, and this expansion. Because I know cost is the biggest barrier to care, we’re proudly in-network with Horizon NJ Health, and we’re actively working to get paneled with more insurers so low-income, foster, and underserved families can get the quality care they deserve. That last part matters to me more than almost anything else we do.
A big piece of our work also goes to the people who take care of everyone else — a large part of our practice is focused on trauma, PTSD, and occupational stress for law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs, frontline healthcare workers, and veterans. If you carry other people’s hardest days for a living, we see you, and we built space for you here too.
So here’s the invitation.
On Friday, October 2nd, 2026, we’re celebrating four years of Aurora Sun — and our expansion into this space — with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 3:00 PM, followed by an Open House and small business vendor market until 6:00 PM, at 550 N Bridgeton Pike, Mantua, NJ 08051. We’ve invited several local vendors to set up tables and share their work, because this celebration isn’t just about us — it's about the small business community that’s grown alongside us here in South Jersey. We’ve even reached out to Governor Sherrill’s office to invite her to help us cut the ribbon, given her focus on healthcare access, family services, first responder support, and minority-owned small business growth.
